From 9 July to 9 November 2026, Museo Madre presents The Years. Chapter 3, the latest instalment of an exhibition project exploring the Neapolitan art scene from the 1960s to the present day.
Curated by Eva Fabbris, in collaboration with Marta Federici, Laura Mariano and Alberta Romano, the exhibition brings Museo Madre’s collection into dialogue with major public and private collections, tracing the pivotal moments, encounters and artistic experiments that have shaped the city’s art history.
Featuring works by Francesco Clemente, Carlo Alfano, Valerio Adami, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Nanni Balestrini and many other artists, the exhibition weaves together contemporary art, collective memory and cultural and social transformations, moving beyond a conventional chronological approach.
Through video art, installations, sound experimentation and archival materials, the exhibition also explores the connections between visual arts, publishing and theatre, with a dedicated section featuring the stage designs created by Valerio Adami for the Teatro di San Carlo.
A programme of talks, discussions and guided visits accompanies the exhibition, inviting visitors to rediscover Naples as a centre of artistic experimentation and international cultural exchange.
