This guided tour explores the places associated with the founding myth of Naples, taking visitors through panoramic terraces, ancient landmarks and spectacular viewpoints overlooking the Gulf, which also provides the setting for the America's Cup sailing races.
The itinerary begins in Piazza del Plebiscito and continues along Via Gennaro Serra towards the Pizzofalcone hill, where, according to tradition, the ancient settlement of Parthenope was founded in the 8th century BC. Steeped in centuries of history, this area has witnessed events ranging from the foundation of the Church of Montedidio to the dramatic events of the Neapolitan Republic of 1799, including the story of Gennaro Serra di Cassano.
The tour then reaches Monte Echia, one of the city's most captivating viewpoints. Among the remains of an ancient Roman nymphaeum and locations made famous by the television series I bastardi di Pizzofalcone, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples and the America's Cup racecourse.
From here, Naples reveals its remarkable natural setting: a vast amphitheatre overlooking the sea, where hills, the waterfront, Mount Vesuvius and the islands form the backdrop to a spectacle that brings the entire city together.
The descent towards the sea continues along the Rampe Lamont Young, near Villa Ebe, the final residence of the visionary architect, before reaching Via Chiatamone, once famous for the distinctive mineral-rich acqua suffregna that flowed from its fountains.
The itinerary concludes in front of Castel dell'Ovo, where visitors discover the legends surrounding the castle and the story of the siren Parthenope, whose myth remains deeply woven into the city's identity.
An experience designed to see Naples from a different perspective, tracing the connections between its ancient past and the present day, against a spectacular backdrop where the sea has always taken centre stage.
