The itinerary begins in Piazza Dante and continues through Port’Alba, the famous street of bookshops, before reaching Piazza Bellini, where the remains of the ancient Greek walls of Neapolis can still be seen. A walk through the city's rich history and the lively atmosphere of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre of Naples.
The tour continues along Via dei Tribunali, the ancient Decumano Maggiore, passing traditional shops and discovering local customs and the tempting aromas of Neapolitan cuisine. Among the most distinctive stops is the statue of Pulcinella by artist Lello Esposito, in Vico Fico del Purgatorio, a tribute to one of Naples' most beloved and iconic characters.
The journey ends at the Church of Santa Maria delle Anime del Purgatorio ad Arco, home to one of the most distinctive traditions of Neapolitan spirituality. In its atmospheric underground chapel, associated with the cult of the anime pezzentelle (souls in Purgatory), the guide shares stories, beliefs and legends that reveal the profound connection between the people of Naples and the world of the dead.
An experience that invites visitors to discover Naples beyond the usual stereotypes, exploring its history, folklore and popular religious traditions in places where the past continues to live on in the present.
