The festival invites everyone to experience Naples during its brightest season, transforming parks, squares, castles and public spaces into open-air stages for participation, discovery and shared experiences.
Cinema
The programme opens with Infinite Journeys: Cinema at Virgiliano Park, an open-air film festival celebrating the seventh art in one of Naples’ most spectacular panoramic settings.
The programme brings together films that span different eras, cultures and cinematic worlds, from Buena Vista Social Club and Divorce Italian Style to The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Persepolis.
The cinematic programme continues across other venues in the city, including Villa Floridiana, with screenings dedicated to contemporary Neapolitan cinema, and Piazza Garibaldi, hosting film-related events and guest speakers exploring Naples through the lens of cinema.
Music
Music takes centre stage throughout the Neapolitan summer.
In the monumental courtyard of Castel Nuovo – Maschio Angioino, Music at the Castle returns as part of the Naples City of Music project, with a live concert series bringing together international artists, leading Italian performers and local talent.
From 16 to 25 July, the programme features artists including Suzanne Vega, Casino Royale, Motta, Anastasio, Speaker Cenzou, Roberto Gatto, Quintorigo featuring John De Leo, Barcelona Gipsy BalKan Orchestra, Bassolino, Altea, Sara Gioielli, Mario Mario and Gioia Lucia, in a musical journey spanning singer-songwriter traditions, jazz, rock, hip hop, world music, folk and electronic music.
Theatre and dance
Summer in Naples 2026 also devotes a prominent place to theatre and dance, with a dedicated programme presented in the monumental courtyard of Castel Nuovo.
Across ten special evenings, theatre, dance, live music, video art and performance come together to offer audiences a rich variety of artistic languages and contemporary perspectives on the city and its cultural scene.
Highlights include Rivoluzione Carosone, a theatrical and musical tribute to the great innovator of Neapolitan swing; Napol→OZ; Henry VIII; Born from Disorder, We Are Chaos; Castel Nuovo Tetralogy; At the Court of the Cunti; Baobab; Tango Mystique; The Courage of Truth – A Tribute to Giancarlo Siani; and The Hostages of Altona.
